I’m a big fan of Thomas MacEntee of Geneabloggers and was able to attend the RootsTech 2011 “Virtual Presentations Roundtable” (via desktop conference) moderated by Thomas. It was a very interesting experience. I’ve taken the liberty of posting the following information from Genealbloggers and can recommend setting aside some time to view them.

The following videos are from the Middle Peninsula African-American Genealogical and Historical Society of Virginia (MPAAGHS) website, on their Videos page.

The Changing Face of Genealogy
Curt Witcher, Allen County Public Library

Cloud Computing: What It Is and How It Has Been Used
Brian Pugh, FamilySearch.org

The Power of PDF: Tools for Every Genealogist
Josh Taylor, New England Historic Genealogical Society

Virtual Presentations Roundtable
Thomas MacEntee, Moderator
Panelists: Geoff Rasmussen, Maureen Taylor, Pat Richley-Erickson, Lisa Louise Cooke, Allison Stacey, Marian Pierre-Louis.

  1. A. Smith. says:

Thanks for this post. I wouldn’t have known about the online videos without it.

  2. Thanks for being a fan and getting the word out on these videos from RootsTech. I am hoping that more genealogy conferences will have live streaming videos so others who can’t physically attend can still participate.

And Sandy, I’m a big fan of SpittalStreet.com – I read every new post!
