Having recently read a list of MyHeritage.com accomplishments for 2011, this year I’ll be paying a lot more attention to what they’re offering users. It’s probably the second most popular genealogy site in the global community, Ancestry.com being number one. They’re predicting that 2012 will be equally good and I wouldn’t doubt it.
Like other smart organizations, they’re thanking their user community for contributing to their success and asking for user input to help them provide new products and services to maintain their worldwide popularity.
There’s a video that last 100 seconds that demonstrates how MyHeritage works. It’s an adequate presentation, so I guess they’ve taken the lesson of our human short attention span to heart. They’ve made useful improvement to their Family Tree Builder software, which includes the ability to import files from other sources and MyHeritage is now translated into 38 languages. Number 38 being Afrikaans—developed from 17th century Dutch dialects, and was previously referred to as “Cape Dutch” spoken natively in South Africa and Namibia. And, their mobile app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times!
Instead of rehashing their blog article, I’d like to point you to the URL. Click on MyHeritage to learn about more details of their announcements for 2011.
Family Tree Builder 6.0 is available for download free of charge.
