The British National Archives has revised and made available for online research, the Manorial Documents Register for Gloucestershire, England. The records still have legal relevance today, safeguarding rights and defining privileges. They give wonderful insight into the lives of ordinary people in the Middle Ages.

Records have been identified as far afield as Utah in the U.S.A. and spread throughout England and Wales.

The index is searchable by county, parish or manor name and researchers can find details of the manorial documents that survive for Gloucestershire in one place regardless of where those records are kept.
