I think this news is interesting, regardless of whether you believe in evolution or creationism. This latest study about the problems facing the current model of primate evolution will be of interest to everyone.
Evolutionists have believed for a long time that modern primate species—humans too—are part of an evolutionary sequence that leads back to a common ancestor. According to the journal Nature more information is available that refutes this premise.
A problem has occurred with concept of independent lineage sorting. In a number of cases, evolutionary trees based on DNA sequences indicates that human DNA seems to be more related to gorilla than chimpanzee. This fact produces a different evolution tree for humans with various primates depending on the DNA sequence being analyzed.
In a significant number of cases DNA sequences show that humans are more closely related to gorillas or orangutans than chimpanzees—once again this depends on which DNA fragment is used for analysis.
The overall outcome is that there is no clear path of common ancestry between humans and any primate, therefore no coherent model of evolution can be achieved.
Back in 2007 one of the first papers exposing this problem was published by the Center for Integrative Bioinformatics. And, since then, in spite of all the determined data manipulation to make it conducive to an evolutionary outcome, a picture of a unique mosaic pattern of DNA always emerges.
It is reported that the results continue to “clearly support a Genesis-based biblical view of unique created kinds and mankind being created in the image of God.”
