The following is the latest release of valuable new records from ScotlandsPlaces:

“ScotlandsPlaces has now launched the Perthshire and Sutherland Ordnance Survey name books. Also recently release were the 18th century dog tax, cart tax, and carriage tax.

Two more OS name books now available

15th February, 2013: ScotlandsPlaces has just released two more Ordnance Survey name books:

  • Perthshire, 1859-1862
  • Sutherland, 1871-1875

More resources will be added in the coming months including the Ordnance Survey name books for Perthshire, Morayshire, and Sutherland, as well as more historical tax rolls.

More historical tax rolls now available

5th February, 2013: ScotlandsPlaces has just released three more historical tax rolls:

  • Dog tax, 1797-1798
  • Cart tax, 1785-1798
  • Carriage tax, 1785-1798

More resources will be added in the coming months including the Ordnance Survey name books for Perthshire, Morayshire, and Sutherland, as well as more historical tax rolls.

Three more Ordnance Survey name book counties released

14th January, 2013: ScotlandsPlaces has just released three more Ordnance Survey name book counties.

These new counties include:

  • Orkney, 1879-1880
  • Banffshire, 1867-1869, and,
  • Kincardineshire, 1863

More resources will be added in the coming months and will likely include the 18th century cart tax, dog tax, and income tax.

More new resources now available

19th November, 2012: ScotlandsPlaces has just released new subscription resources in the website.

These new resources include the Ordnance Survey name books for:

  • Dunbartonshire, 1860
  • Peeblesshire, 1856-1858
  • Selkirkshire, 1858

More resources will be added in the coming months and these will include more historical tax rolls. We are aiming to complete the inclusion of the OS name books by the end of summer 2013.

19th November, 2012: ScotlandsPlaces has just released new subscription resources in the website.

These resources include:

  • Land tax rolls, 1645-1831
  • and the Ordnance Survey name books for:
  • Caithness, 1871-1873
  • Renfrewshire, 1856-1857

More resources will be added in the coming months and these will include more historical tax rolls. We are aiming to complete the inclusion of the OS name books by the end of summer 2013.”
